Essential Oils are healthy, deliciously fragrant, romantic, calming, exciting...  They just ARE!  I'm planning to list several site links where I obtain EOs and also a few helpful places to obtain great teachings on these heavenly jewels.  Please note that I do not guarantee the quality of the oils nor do I give full credence to those teaching about them.  These are reommendations.  Your job...do the homework.  Please share your findings with me under "Contact me."

Please consider which EOs you wish to purchase.  There are many grades and uses.  It would definitely be wise to do some study on each of these oils and their purposes.  There are videos, books, DVDs, courses, etc to help you make wise decisions.

Using a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil, jojoba, etc is sometimes recommended due to the strength of the oil.

Here is Marjorie Wildcraft's natural toothpaste.  

As an herbalist friend once told me, to copy an ingredient list to make your own mixture/recipe, as long as you are not making something dangerous LOL, you start with the first ingredient, then cut each new ingredient in half from the one before.  Since this list is basically simple and the items are safe, you can check this out and see how it goes.  If you need more of one item, try it.  There is nothing harmful in any of these that I am aware of.  I wonder if a pinch of sea salt might be helpful?  : )

I know most of you ladies have an aversion to spiders.  I can tell you that I have finally worked through my fear of these little creatures by talking to a giant wolf spider while milking my goats, but they can sure be creepy when you find one sleeping on your pillow. 

The spider at the right is called a HOUSEKEEPER SPIDER.  They are about the size of a saucer and love to lie flat up against whatever they are crawling on.  If they become annoyed, they will curl up in the shape of a bow and lurch at their enemy.  After cutting down a lot of trees and bushes on our property, my house became infested with these critters.  That was creepy!

Here is an EO recipe to repel spiders.  It sounded interesting, so I wanted to share it with you folks.

Here is a wonderfully effective recipe that I picked up at a gathering of ladies from Young Living Essential Oils while visiting in Hayesville, NC. 

You need a 4 oz spray bottle

Add the following:

2 ounces witch hazel
6 drops Purification EO (Young Living Oil containing: Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree)
6 drops Citronella EO
6 drops Patchouli EO
4 drops Peppermint EO
4 drops Lavender EO
4 drops Thieves or NOW Nature's Shield EO
Fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water.
Shake before each use.
Good for all sorts of pesky bugs!

YUK! YOU ARE NOT ALONE

I found this recipe or a variation of same on several sites and videos online.  However, instead of taking up all your time with "details," I am going to list the basic recipe and a short description of what I did to get rid of cockroaches in my home. Apparently when I bought the house, which had been sitting vacant for several years, the little critters had moved in and made themselves at home.  Not good!  So, here is my recommendation and it worked.  Sorry, no EOs involved in this, but it's still easy to do.

You will need:

1 fat diameter plastic straw cut to 1-1/2 inch pieces (approximate)
1 small mixing bowl
1 fork
1 hard-boiled egg yoke (no white)
1 Tbls white sugar
3 Tbls BORIC ACID powder (please read safety instructions)

1.  Mix the egg yoke and sugar until thoroughly combined.
2.  In a safe area, preferably outside out of the wind, add the Boric Acid and mix thoroughly.
3.  Carefully fill each piece of straw.
4.  Place these straws in dark locations, everywhere roaches might be hiding, out of the reach of children and pets.

It takes about 72 hours for it to work.  Within 72+ hours, I found 5 full grown roaches.  Well, my puppy found them.  They were belly up.
