NUTRITION FACTS VS INGREDIENTS
Far too many folks mistake the NUTRITION FACTS label for the INGREDIENTS label that can be found under this Nutrition Facts label. Big Mistake to assume!
(1) Be sure to read the ingredients!!! The hidden items in processed foods are generally listed here. However, some companies are misleading their customers even here by using "natural" and "artificial" flavorings. This can be very unhealthy and sometimes downright dangerous. If you call the company and they say the flavoring is proprietary, which means they aren't going to tell you what they used, then my recommendation is to stay away from that product. More than likely they are hiding something.
(2) Know what the ingredients really are. You can search each of these and be in-the-know. Highly recommended!!! Sometimes companies use names for dangerous items to make them sound like a safe ingredient. Beware!!!
(3) REMEMBER that many items contain a form of sugar. On the Nutrition Facts label it might show sugar, but the ingredients label shows no added sugar. That might be because one of the ingredients has a "naturally occurring" form of sugar like fruit or some vegetables.
(4) Most of the INGREDIENTS on the above label are unhealthy and several are dangerous to ingest. Do you KNOW what they are?
